Winter Stewardship: TREE Planting ~ PT

January 31, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Tues, January 31, 10 am – 1 pm

Trade in blackberries for trees! The Port Townsend Gateway – Railroad Avenue Preserve protects a scenic greenbelt leading into Port Townsend along the Larry Scott Trail. The greenbelt has a few open areas, a few wet areas, a few old alder and too few conifers! Help trade out blackberries for evergreen trees to diversify the habitat and enhance the views for humans too.

Where: The Gateway property is directly adjacent to the Larry Scott trail across from Jacob Miller Road, approximately from mile 2.2 to mile 2.5. Bike or walk there if you can as parking is limited. If you drive, park cars at the Larry Scott Trail/Cape George Rd trailhead and then bike or walk 1.5 miles north towards Port Townsend.
