Volunteers walked stretches of beach and identified logs that were not apart of an existing structure so they could be removed and disposed of properly.\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t<\/article>\n\n<article class=\"wsu-card  wsu-color-background--gray-5 wsu-border-top--color-crimson-light\">\r\n\t\t<div class=\"wsu-card__content\">\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"wsu-title \">\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tManila Clam Seedings \t\t\t\t\t<\/h3>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"wsu-caption\">\r\n\t\t\t\tA partnership with Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife.<br><br>600,000 manila clams were dispersed into the incoming tide of Bywater Bay near Hood Canal Bridge. Water\/Beach Watcher volunteers assisted WDFW personnel with this process. As filter feeders, manila clams can help improve water quality and also serve as a heavily sought after recreational opportunity for clam harvesters in the Pacific Northwest.\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t<\/article>\n\n<article class=\"wsu-card  wsu-color-background--gray-5 wsu-border-top--color-crimson-light\">\r\n\t\t<div class=\"wsu-card__content\">\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"wsu-title \">\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tSalmon Live Trapping \t\t\t\t\t<\/h3>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"wsu-caption\">\r\n\t\t\t\tA partnership with Jefferson County Conservation District.<br><br>Interested Water\/Beach Watcher volunteers form their own teams, and are assigned a specifc location along a Jefferson County stream. The teams are responsible for monitoring their section during the year. Sampling takes place year round, teams are responsible for collecting data for the quarter they sign-up for.\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t<\/article>\n\n<article class=\"wsu-card  wsu-color-background--gray-5 wsu-border-top--color-crimson-light\">\r\n\t\t<div class=\"wsu-card__content\">\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"wsu-title \">\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tOlympic Region Harmful Algal Bloom (ORHAB) Monitoring \t\t\t\t\t<\/h3>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"wsu-caption\">\r\n\t\t\t\tA partnership with Port Townsend Marine Science Center.<br><br>Sample the nearshore waters right out front of your home and help monitor algal bloom levels in Jefferson County. This is a great volunteer opportunity that puts you right where we all want to be \u2013 right on the beach.\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t<\/article>\n\n<article class=\"wsu-card  wsu-color-background--gray-5 wsu-border-top--color-crimson-light\">\r\n\t\t<div class=\"wsu-card__content\">\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"wsu-title \">\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tRiparian Tree Planting\t\t\t\t\t<\/h3>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"wsu-caption\">\r\n\t\t\t\tA partnership with North Olympic Salmon Coalition and Jefferson Conservation District<br>Hundreds of trees and shrubs are planted along Chimacum Creek every planting opportunity thanks to the efforts off Water\/Beach Watchers. The plantings help provide shade to the creek to help lower temperatures.\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t<\/article>\n\n<article class=\"wsu-card  wsu-color-background--gray-5 wsu-border-top--color-crimson-light\">\r\n\t\t<div class=\"wsu-card__content\">\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"wsu-title \">\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tSummer Chum Spawner Surveys\t\t\t\t\t<\/h3>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"wsu-caption\">\r\n\t\t\t\tA partnership with North Olympic Salmon Coalition and Jefferson County Conservation District.<br><br>The number of Summer Chum returning to local streams is steadily increasing every year in Jefferson County streams. Who knows what it will do in the future, but Water\/Beach Watchers will always be there to assist the staff of the North Olympic Salmon Coalition and Jefferson County Conservation District.\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t<\/article>\n\n<article class=\"wsu-card  wsu-color-background--gray-5 wsu-border-top--color-crimson-light\">\r\n\t\t<div class=\"wsu-card__content\">\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"wsu-title \">\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tCoho Spawner Surveys\t\t\t\t\t<\/h3>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"wsu-caption\">\r\n\t\t\t\tA partnership with North Olympic Salmon Coalition and Jefferson County Conservation District.<br><br>Similar to the Summer Chum Surveys that take place earlier in the year, volunteers have the opportunity to monitor coho populations in Chimacum Creek and it\u2019s tributaries.\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t<\/article>\n\n<article class=\"wsu-card  wsu-color-background--gray-5 wsu-border-top--color-crimson-light\">\r\n\t\t<div class=\"wsu-card__content\">\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"wsu-title \">\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tLittle Goose Water Quality Monitoring\t\t\t\t\t<\/h3>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"wsu-caption\">\r\n\t\t\t\tA partnership with Jefferson County Conservation District.<br><br>Little Goose creek flows out into Oak Bay near Port Hadlock. This creek once hosted a salmon run every season. But no salmon have been seen here for years.
