Tractor & Farm Machinery Safety Workshop

May 9, 2018 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

$75

Agriculture ranks among the most hazardous industries in the country, according to the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health. The National Coalition for Ag Safety and Health have identified tractor accidents as the leading cause of deaths and disabling injuries on farms. Tractors cause from one-third to one-half of all farm accidents and fatalities.

Most of these accidents can be prevented with adequate safety education. In addition, federal law requires those driving tractors for hire to be at least 16 years old. An exception is if they are 14 or 15 years old and have completed a safety course like this one.

To help our farmers and ranchers develop safe farm machinery habits, the Farm Machinery Safety Workshop developed by WSU Skagit County Extension is coming to King County Wednesday, May 9, 2018, 8am to 5pm! Includes classroom and hands-on instruction. Those completing the entire course successfully will be eligible for a Certificate of Completion. Course instruction in Spanish will be available.

Location

We’ll be at Carnation Farms for the all-day, intensive workshop. Exact address and map will be provided with registration.
