I realize that I never did send an email I was working on but hopefully it\u2019s not too late to thank you and your committee for helping me make it to the University of Hawaii! My first semester has been a wonderful experience. I\u2019ve been in the dorms&nbsp;enjoying new friends and taking some fun classes, particularly microeconomics and psychology. Anyone is welcome to join in on the meetings, share your thoughts, and make your voice heard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading  wsu-heading--style-marked\"><strong>4-H Community Highlights<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Lorelai J., a King County 4-H member, recently competed as part of the Pierce County Livestock Judging team at the 105th Western National Roundup Livestock Judging Contest in Denver, Colorado. The team represented Washington State while judging 12 classes of sheep, goats, swine, and cattle and presenting oral reasons in select classes. Washington finished an impressive 11th out of 20 states, with strong team performances across all species. In addition to the contest, Lorelai and her teammates participated in practices at Colorado State University, explored career opportunities, and attended the opening day of the National Western Stock Show\u2019s 120th anniversary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/4honline.com\/api\/institutions\/ins_1l\/programs\/prg_1\/images\/fil_n40\" alt=\"Image\" width=\"599\" height=\"449\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Maple Valley Makers and Pet Caretakers hosted their first annual Christmas Critters show on January 17th at the Meridian Grange. Here&#8217;s a note from Michele Pilon:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We had 17 Cavy kids with 28 cavies and 15 cat kids with 19 cats from 7 different clubs coming from as far away as Skagit County.Our animal events included Fit and Show, Type, Written Contest, Ugly Sweater and Cage Decorating.We also had a judged arts and craft show and Card board animals show.Additional activities included a raffle, auction, bake sale\/pizza sale and craft sale featuring crafts made by our club members.We have received a lot of positive feedback. Everyone said they had a lot of fun.
