{"id":6001,"date":"2026-04-14T15:10:02","date_gmt":"2026-04-14T22:10:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/extension.wsu.edu\/king\/?page_id=6001"},"modified":"2026-04-29T12:06:28","modified_gmt":"2026-04-29T19:06:28","slug":"april-meeting-minutes","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/extension.wsu.edu\/king\/april-meeting-minutes","title":{"rendered":"April Meeting Minutes"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>April 9, 2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In attendance: Sue Adam, Floy Ziegler, Anita Mastin, Linda Wiseman, Caroline Vadino, Jim Olson, Melinda Wilkeson, Nancy Baskett (staff), Aspen Dobbins (staff)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The meeting was called to order at 7:10 PM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Minutes: Floy moved and Anita seconded to accept as presented the minutes from the March 24 meeting. Motion carries<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Treasurers report: There was a $20 and Expenses included grants of $1076 for youth attending KYG as well as chaperone expense of $442.&nbsp; There were&nbsp; fees of $120 for shooting sports certification training for two individuals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Staff reports: Aspen is finishing up the fair exhibitor guide.&nbsp; It is being aligned as much as possible with the state fair book.&nbsp; Announced fair t-shirt design contest.&nbsp; There was some confusion about whether the t-shirt contest was for a fair t-shirt or general county t-shirt.&nbsp; To be clarified.&nbsp; T-shirts have been ordered for those volunteering at the Agri-venture event at the Expo center on May 19\/20. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Nancy reported Teen Leadership event at Panhandle May 2-3 and there needs to be six more youth sign up in order for it to even happen. Also reported that there is a need for 7 more host families for the Japanese exchange program. Leaders need to check 4-H Online to be sure club roster is up to date.&nbsp; There are some leaders that still need to complete the EP14 training. Poster judges are needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>President Sue:&nbsp; After discussion about by-law changes, it was decided that any recommended changes will be made and voted on before the start of next 4-H year.&nbsp; Report on cookshack \u2013 Floy working on writing a solicitation letter for possible donners of&nbsp; a new refrigerator. Floy reported that Rene from Expo center has expressed a desire for 4-H to do other cookshacks for other events at the center.&nbsp; Also feels a meeting to discuss the particulars of how that would happen is needed. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Sue then presented&nbsp; the need for a fundraising committee. Melinda volunteered to help look at options other than just at fair.&nbsp; Also need to utilize grants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sue talked about House and Hazel in Maple Valley where they do \u201cDo Good Wednesday\u201d&nbsp; Wine Bar where proceeds are shared with organizations that help with the event.&nbsp; Youth couldn\u2019t help but parents could.&nbsp; Also the possibility to have a Terrarium making event for youth and hopefully create some fair entries. Jim asked about selling hotdogs outside of Tractor Supply.&nbsp; The idea of having 4-H info booth at Farmer\u2019s market was introduced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was decided to have a pot-luck for our May meeting. No further business.&nbsp; Jim moved and Anita seconded to adjourn.
