Vicki Avery

Our wonderful Office Manager Vicki Avery, who has been on staff for the last 22 years as an employee of Kitsap County, is now officially an employee of WSU! Here are a few thoughts from Vicki as she makes the adjustment in her job status:

What has been your favorite part of your job with WSU Kitsap Extension?

My favorite part of my job is being able to work with great colleagues. My work isn’t too exciting, so it is being able to work with colleagues and help them succeed with volunteers, and in their goals for their programs.

What is your fondest memory of someone you have helped in your job (staff, public, or otherwise)?

One of my best memories was when the 4-H program had nobody running it during the County Fair and it was only myself and one other administrative member. The fair ran smoothly and I felt one of my great accomplishments in helping youth, volunteers and fair managers succeed in a great fair.

What would you say the toughest part of your job is?

My toughest part of my job is watching colleagues leave. I am not great at change, but I have learned to adjust in the 22 years working with WSU staff.

What are your goals for the future?

I hope to achieve new goals in my career, something that will make me feel good about what I do as an employee and what I have to give as a colleague.
