SUMMARY:Open Office Hours WSDA Local Food System Infrastructure Grant
DESCRIPTION:[row][column][textblock] Join WSU Regional Small Farms and the Kitsap Conservation District for our virtual open office hours discussing the Spring 2024 WSDA Local Food Systems Infrastructure Grant. This is a time for farmers to get questions answered from local resource representatives and former grant reviewers. \nThe Local Food System Infrastructure Grant program supports local food supply chains and market access for farms\, ranches\, food processors\, and food distributors. The intention is to fund projects that expand and strengthen collaboration across linkages in the regional food supply chain. \nThis virtual offering will include overview and discussion of the following topics: \n\nBrief overview of grant\, including allowable costs and ineligible costs\nMaking your application shine: tips to make your grant stand out\nNew and beginning farmer focus: What infrastructure is most needed (pack shed\, walk in or coolbot\, field transportation/processing\, etc)\nThinking ahead to next year’s opportunities\nQ&A with local agriculture resource representatives and former grant reviewers.\n\nIn addition to this local opportunity\, the WSDA has scheduled helpful applicant workshops and provides information and assistance via their grants webpage. \nWhen: April 10th\, 2024 @ 7pm\nWhere: Virtual\nAudience: Farmers and Food Producers\nRegistration: This is an online event.
