SUMMARY:Raab Park Learning Garden - 2025 Children's Program
DESCRIPTION:This summer join WSU Master Gardeners for fun in the garden at Raab Park Learning Garden. Plant\, water\, search\, explore and harvest. Learn about bugs\, composting veggies\, and create a garden related craft to take home! \nActivities are designed for preschool and elementary school-age youth. One or more adult must accompany each group of up to four children with a suggested $0.25 cents donation per child. \nWe welcome your participation! The purpose of this garden is to involve children\, families\, and the public in learning about sustainable gardening. In addition to crafts\, learning and fun\, the food harvested by the children and adults goes to the Fishline Food Bank in Poulsbo. The 2024 harvest resulted in over 1\,700 pounds donated. \n  \nDates/Times: See below for individual event dates and themes. The children’s programming happens every Monday starting June 23rd through July 28th from 10am – 12pm. \n  \nLocation: Raab Park Learning Garden – Northeast corner of Raab Park\, 18349 Caldart Ave NE\, in Poulsbo \n  \nRegistration: These are free events with no registration needed unless you have groups of 5 children or more.\nFor groups of 5 or more children\, such as childcare centers\, summer recreational programs\, please contact Poulsbo Parks & Rec at 360-779-9898 one week in advance. \n2025 Children’s Program Dates\nThe 2025 Children’s Program event themes and dates are below.  Families and youth are welcome to come to one or all of them! \nJune 23rd\, 2025 – Grow a Garden with Soil\, Seeds and Water\nLearn about the Water Cycle; Plant seeds in pots\, or bring an object or container from home. \nJune 30th\, 2025 – Fun with Bees & Other Pollinators\nCreate a wind chime \nJuly 14th\, 2025 – Butterflies & Bugs\nLearn about recycling; Create a butterfly \nJuly 21st\, 2025 – Here Comes the Sun\nCreate a sun catcher \nJuly 28th\, 2025 – Explore the Garden\nCreate a stepping stone \n  \n
