DESCRIPTION:WSU Regional Small Farms will be hosting a special series of educational Dirt Talk Farm Walks in 2025 throughout Kitsap County in conjunction with the Kitsap Agritourism Coalition farms. This group of dedicated farmers will be sharing their unique experiences and expertise around integrating agritourism as part of your farm business. \n  \nJoin WSU Regional Small Farms for our next Dirt Talk Farm Walk education experience at Bluetree Farm & Forest on Bainbridge Island! This is a unique opportunity for existing farmers to explore a thriving small acreage lavender farm and learn about the innovative ways to enhance your farm’s appeal and profitability through agritourism. \nEvent Highlights:\n\nLavender Farm Tour: Enjoy a guided walk through their picturesque lavender and learn about the cultivation and care of this versatile plant.\nValue-Added Products: Discover the range of lavender products the farm creates and sells and gain insights into how value-added products can boost your farm’s revenue.\nOn-Farm Opportunities: Learn about other various on-farm experiences this small farm offers\, including their native food forest walk and popular farm-to-table dinners that showcase the farm’s own products.\n\nWhy Attend?\n\nGain practical knowledge from experienced agritourism professionals.\nNetwork with fellow farm owners around agritourism.\nTake home actionable strategies to implement on your own farm.\n\nRegistration\nDate: In Person! DESCRIPTION:This summer join WSU Master Gardeners for fun in the garden at Raab Park Learning Garden. Plant\, water\, search\, explore and harvest. Learn about bugs\, composting veggies\, and create a garden related craft to take home! \nActivities are designed for preschool and elementary school-age youth. One or more adult must accompany each group of up to four children with a suggested $0.25 cents donation per child. \nWe welcome your participation! The purpose of this garden is to involve children\, families\, and the public in learning about sustainable gardening. In addition to crafts\, learning and fun\, the food harvested by the children and adults goes to the Fishline Food Bank in Poulsbo. The 2024 harvest resulted in over 1\,700 pounds donated. \n  \nDates/Times: See below for individual event dates and themes.
