2021 WSU Kitsap Salmon Docent Training

Are you interested in learning more about Pacific Salmon? We are hosting a three-day training event where regional experts will lead participants through lessons on salmon biology, migration, the importance of habitat and local issues facing salmon. Training days will consist of virtual presentations, lab work, and a field trip day!

Below is the schedule for our three day training.
Day 1: Tuesday, October 19th: 9:30am to 12:30pm via Zoom.
Day 2: Thursday, Oct. 21st: 9:30am to 12:30pm. In person field trip and dissection lab at the Rhododendron Preserve.
Day 3: Tuesday, October 26th: 9:30am to 12:30pm via Zoom.
Our training culminates with the opportunity to become a docent at our annual Kitsap Salmon Tours event, giving trainees the chance to share what they’ve learned with the public. Attendees who sign up to participate in a 2-hour shift as a streamside docent will receive a FREE 70-page waterproof Kitsap Salmon Field Guide, available only to Kitsap Salmon Docents.
Registration deadline is October 13th. Space is limited! Full refunds may be administered through October 18, 2021, after which participants will not be refunded. Some scholarships are available for qualifying applicants.
