The Art of Science: Observational Drawing Workshop & Marine Debris Presentation

  • When:  Rescheduled due to snow – Tuesday January 27th, 5-8pm (*This event is 2-part)
  • Where: Crane’s Castle Brewing, 1550 NE Riddell Rd., Bremerton
  • About:  Participants can join one or both portions of this exciting event:
    • Art Workshop: 5:00- 6:30pm – $20 per person– Join local artist Jacquelyn Speare as she guides us through an observational drawing workshop. Create your own drawings of seashells found on the beaches of the Puget Sound while learning about the cool critters that inhabited them with staff from Washington Sea Grant and Harbor WildWatch. Participants will learn basic drawing techniques and add watercolor to their work to take home. 
    • COASST Presentation: 7:00- 8:00pm – FREE (no registration required— participation is first-come, first-served); Following the art workshop, members of the University of Washingtons COASST team will share current research on marine debris and provide ways to plug-in and make a difference.
    • Throughout event, participants are invited to sip on locally brewed beer and kombucha and munch on delicious food from Augie’s Backyard BBQ. *Vegetarian options are available. This event is brought to you by WSU Kitsap Extension, Cranes Castle Brewing, COASST, Washington Sea Grant, Harbor WildWatch, Augies BBQ, and Kitsap County
