Chicken Health, First Aid, Biosecurity, and Safe Handling

This series is intended for those who want to deepen their knowledge in raising poultry from the backyard beginner to the small-scale commercial poultry producer.
Each class is $25. Youth enrolled in 4H or FFA may attend for free with an attending adult. If you are in need of scholarship assistance, please contact Kellie Henwood at least two weeks before the event. kellie.henwood@wsu.edu or (360) 379-5610 ext. 201

Section 1: Chicken Health & First Aid
Students will learn about avian first aid kits, prevention/treatment for common issues such as external/internal parasites, diet related issues, and respiratory issues.
Section 2: Biosecurity
Ric Torgerson of the WSDA will present about handling poultry safely, poultry diseases and pathogens, along with best biosecurity practices.
