DESCRIPTION:Due to the recent confirmation of the Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome Virus (PRRS) in Kittitas County\, the decision has been made by the Swine Fair Board Director and Superintendents to not weigh and tag pigs on Sunday\, June 8. Please DO NOT bring your pigs to the Fairgrounds for the clinic/judging contest! \n\n\n\nThe Swine Clinic and Judging Contest (required for swine members) will still be held beginning at 10:30 a.m. in Bloom Pavilion at the Fairgrounds. Swine members will need to bring a copy of their pig’s health records to the clinic with the RFID Tag# and youth’s name filled out. \n\n\n\nFor more information on PRRS\, visit  https://agr.wa.gov/departments/animals-livestock-and-pets/animal-health. \n\n\n\nIf you have questions\, please contact Bob Eddings at (509) 899-3371\, bob.eddings@kittitascountyfair.org\, or Sarah Devries at sarahdevries20@yahoo.com. \n\n\n\nThis is a required event for swine project members. DESCRIPTION:The Beef Weigh-In and Pre-Show will be held on SATURDAY\, MARCH 21st at the Kittitas County Fairgrounds. To sell a steer at the Kittitas County Fair\, 4-H/FFA/Grange members are required to weigh and tag a steer (limit of two per member) at the Beef Weigh-In. Minimum weights must be met to show in the market steer classes at the Kittitas County Fair and go through the Livestock Sale (Minimum weight at Fair: Steers – 1150 lbs.\, Miniature – 650 lbs.) \n\n\n\n\n7:00 AM – 9:00 AM     WEIGH AND TAG STEERS\n\nA growth implant and dewormer injection will be offered and available at no charge to the youth at the scale again this year.\n\n\n\n\n\n9:15 AM – 11:00 AM    BEEF JUDGING CONTEST – Feeder Steers\, Heifers\, Beef Parts\, Oral Reasons\n\n\n\n12:00 PM – complete   SPRING MARKET CLASSES – Heifers\, Mini-Beef\, Market Steers (or one hour following the judging contest)\n\n\n\n\nShowmanship classes will immediately follow market classes. \n\n\n\nORDER WILL BE AS FOLLOWS: Novice\, Junior\, Intermediate\, Senior \n\n\n\nPlease note: \n\n\n\n\nGenerators are encouraged.  Half of Bloom Pavilion will be open to stall grooming chutes.\n\n\n\nBring a water bucket for your animals and some feed.\n\n\n\nAll stalls must be cleaned before leaving the show for the day\, bring rakes and equipment to clean pens out before you leave.\n\n\n\n\nPlease check with Superintendents or 4-H Leaders/FFA/Grange Instructors to be excused from the fairgrounds for the day.  \n\n\n\nIF YOU HAVE A CONFLICT: \n\n\n\nExhibitors who have a conflict with the March 21st  date are required to write a letter to: the Livestock Committee Chair\, 901 E 7th Avenue\, Suite 2\, Ellensburg\, WA 98926\, asking to be excused from the Beef Pre-Showby March 17th at 5:00 pm. Classes TBD\, oral reasons. \n\n\n\nThere will be two horse judging contests held during the 4-H year. 4-H Horse Project members are required to participate in one county 4-H horse judging event to be eligible to compete at the Kittitas County Junior Horse Fair and complete the 4-H year. For members to be eligible to judge on the Kittitas County 4-H State Horse Judging team\, they must judge in two county judging events completing oral reasons.

All lambs and goats are required to have scrapie tags. \n\n\n\nHere is the schedule:   \n\n\n\n7:00 a.m.  Sheep Weigh-in \n\n\n\n7:45 a.m. Goat Weigh-in \n\n\n\n9:00-10:30 a.m. Sheep & Goat Judging Contest  \n\n\n\n10:45 a.m. Sheep Prospect Market Class (15 minutes after completion of Judging Contest) \n\n\n\n30 minute break after Market class and showmanship clinic\, followed by lamb Showmanship classes. \n\n\n\nNew this year-members need to register in the Showman app prior to preshow: please capitalize the first letter of your first and last name. Enter only your scrapie tag number — we will add your fair tag and weight at Pre‑Show. You’ll be signing up for the Kittitas County Fair Livestock Show and Market Sale\, which helps us “pre‑load” your information for fair. \n\n\n\nShowman | Livestock Show Management Software: https://showman.app/shows#/kittitas-county-fair-livestock-show-and-market-sale-6a22 \n\n\n\nIf for any reason you are not able to attend\, you will need to be excused by the Livestock Committee by May 19. You must check with the superintendents to be excused from the fairgrounds for the day.  \n\n\n\nSheep members have options to either slick shear or leave unsheared.
