Reporting Hours in GivePulse<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Washington State law requires that all WSU volunteers are covered by worker’s compensation insurance. The Washington State Department of Labor and Industry uses the dates and number of hours that volunteers work to determine the amount of insurance that must be purchased.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GivePulse is used to document your Volunteer Hours for WSU 4-H Youth Development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are currently a Kittitas County 4-H volunteer and do not have a username, please contact the Extension Office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why volunteer your hours?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Every hour you spend supporting 4-H is a donation. By donating and logging your volunteer hours, you give Kittitas County 4-H the numeric proof we need to show our funders and higher-officials that our programs are greatly valued and needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What qualifies as volunteer hours?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Anything and everything you do for 4-H!  Teaching, planning, prepping, shopping, paperwork, training, driving 4-H members, mentoring, presenting, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to record an “Impact” on GivePulse<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

An “impact” in the GivePulse system refers to the time you spend working on behalf of Washington State 4-H Youth Development, or more simply your volunteer hours. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Log in to GivePulse.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Click \u201cAdd Impact\u201d (a green button in the top right side of your group screen).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Enter the date and time for your impact.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Next; enter the number of hours for your impact (rounded to the nearest quarter of an hour: (Example: 1.0, 1.25, 1.5, 1.75 hours).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Enter the type of activity from the pull-down menu.  Select the activity type that best fits your impact (a description of each is provided).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Rate your experience with the event and provide reflections\/comments for the group to see.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  7. Personal notes are available only to you, enter notes you might want to remember.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  8. Attach any items you\u2019d like (pictures, agendas, etc.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
