Grazing & Water Quality Workshop for Natural Resource Professionals
Non‐point source water quality has always been difficult to assess and correct. The challenge is to promote water quality through watershed health, which requires individual landowners to care well for their own land. To be effective, education and technical assistance must 1) identify and address acute water quality problems and 2) promote management which creates and maintains conditions at the plant‐soil interface to stabilize soil, nutrients, and other substances that are considered pollutants when they are out of place or are present in excess of regulatory thresholds. Volunteer Orientation
An orientation for new and prospective 4-H volunteers will be held Wednesday, November 4 at 6:00 p.m. in the Armory. The hour long orientation will feature an introduction to 4-H Youth Development, its essential elements and its relationship with WSU Extension, as well as an overview of general volunteer roles and responsibilities. Leader Training-Part 1 (For All Leaders)
This 4-H year several new and/or revised program policies will take effect. We are offering multiple meet-ups to ensure every Kittitas County 4-H Leader has an opportunity to learn about and understand how these policies help promote positive youth development and support 4-H Leaders. Part 1 is required for all leaders, and Part 2 is an orientation required for new leaders. Each session is offered several times to accommodate different schedules. 4-H Horse Certificates due by 5:00 p.m.
A Horse Identification Certificate needs to be filed for each horse being carried as a 4-H Horse Project with the Extension Office by 5:00 p.m., April 30 to be eligible to exhibit the animal in the Junior Division of the Kittitas County Fair. Master Gardener Diagnostic Clinic
The WSU Kittitas County Diagnostic Clinic has resumed in-person as of May 4, 2021. Safety precautions will be in place. Masks are required (if you cannot wear a mask, please leave your specimens at the Armory front desk; a Master Gardener will call you).
