4-H Leader Awards

Pierce County 4-H Leader Awards

Help us acknowledge the efforts of our dedicated 4-H youth and adult leaders.  The Pierce County Leaders Council has created the following awards to recognize these leaders.  All of the award nominations are due to the Pierce County 4-H Office by the Thursday following the close of the Washington State 4-H Fair or the Fall Leaders Meeting.  Nomination forms can be brought to the Fall Leaders Meeting or emailed to shelley.friend@wsu.edu.  Any leader, member, or parent may make a nomination for most of the awards.  The awards will be presented at the Pierce County 4-H Fall Leaders Meeting.

Outstanding New Leader of the Year Award

The Outstanding New Volunteer of the Year Award is an opportunity to recognize a new leader who has shown the 4-H spirit in working with the youth.. To be selected the leader must be a current active volunteer leader and has served for less than 2 years.

Project Leader Award

The Outstanding Project Leader Award is an opportunity to recognize those who have gone over and above what is expected of a Project Leader.  To be selected these leaders must be current active Project Leader who have served in the project for at least 2 years and not currently enrolled as a General Club Leader.  Leaders will not be recognized within five years of being selected for the award in the project nominated.

Club Leader Award

The Club Leader Award is an opportunity to recognize a leader who has gone over and above what is expected of a General Club Leader.  To be selected the leader must be a current active General Club Leader who have served for at least 2 years as a General Club Leader.  Leaders will not be recognized within five years of being selected for this.

Club President Award

The Club President of the Year Award is an opportunity to recognize a youth leader who has gone over and above what is expected of a Club President.  To be selected the youth leader must be a current active member and have an understanding of their position and are actively leading their club.

Golden Spark Plug Award

This person has puts a spark into your club or program.  This award can be nominated through a Club President, General Club Leader or Project Superintendent.   Each club and program will be allowed one award per year for a youth and adult.  Adult award recipients do not need to be enrolled leaders.  Awards will be presented by the club or project at the Pierce County 4-H Fall Banquet.
