DESCRIPTION:  \n \nCultivating Success™: Whole Farm Planning\nOffered Statewide\, Online\, and with Spanish Interpretation \nSeptember 19th – December 5th \nWe’ll cover a broad range of topics and decision-making tools for you to create a successful small farm enterprise!  Whether you are just exploring the opportunities available or already have an existing operation\, you’ll learn what it takes to create\, sustain\, and grow a viable small farm. \n\n$200 for a 12-week course September 19th through December 5th\, 2022\nClass meets weekly on Mondays from 6:00pm to 8:30pm\nOnline course classroom through Zoom with in-person field trips\nScholarships are available for Military Veterans and anyone for whom the course fee is a barrier\nThis course will be offered with Spanish language interpretation and facilitation\n\nCultivando Éxito: Planificación de toda la granja\nOfrecido a nivel estatal\, en línea y con interpretación en español   \n¡Cubriremos una amplia gama de las opciones de producción y mercadeo paras las pequeñas granjas de hoy! DESCRIPTION:The Niche Meat Processor Assistance Network and Colorado State University is very excited to announce our newly updated and expanded intermediate-level short course for small and mid-scale livestock producers\, called the Western Meat School\, launching October 11th\, 2022.\n\nThis fully remote learning experience (with optional on site class support in Clallam County) will help farmers\, ranchers\, butchers & others learn the essentials for direct marketing niche meat from experts in livestock production\, processing\, marketing & pricing. It’s fully remote and can be attended from the comfort of your own home or you have the option to attend in person with a cohort of farmers in Clallam County\, WA.\n\n\nWho is this course designed for? \nThe Western Meat School is ideally designed for the following audiences: \n\nLivestock Producers with at least 2 years experience\nMeat Processors and Butchers\nMeat Buyers\, Distributors\, Retailers\nAgricultural Professionals\, Extension Specialists\, NGOs working on local livestock and meat supply chains\n4H and FFA program leaders\n\nThe livestock species covered in this course include: \n\nBeef & bison\nPigs\nSheep & Goats\nWe do not cover poultry\, but many of the subjects could be applicable to processing & selling poultry\n\n\n\nWhen: Tuesdays\, October 11-December 6\, 2022 from 5-7pm PST\nWhere: Online or attend in person with a cohort in Clallam County\, WA.
