DESCRIPTION:COMING SOON!  \nDirt Talk Farm Walk: Dry-Farmed Bush/Semi-Bush Squash a Two Part Series\nFarm Walk #2: Harvest Season (Variety Performance & Results)\nJoin us for the second session the two-part WSARE farm walk series at Roots Farm\, featuring their research project\, “PNW Dry‑Farmed Bush/Semi‑Bush Squash Variety Trials.” This project explores practical strategies for small farms in the Pacific Northwest to adapt to worsening drought and shifting climate conditions. \nWhat You’ll See & Learn in Farm Walk #2: \n\nWith the system at full maturity\, we’ll dig into late‑season performance\, including:\nYield comparisons across dry‑farmed varieties\nFruit quality and flavor evaluations\nRoot and soil observations beneath deep mulch\nPreliminary data on moisture retention & plant response\nEarly insights into which varieties show the most drought resilience\n\nThis second walk gives farmers the opportunity to assess real‑world harvest results from our WSARE-supported trials and better understand how dry‑farmed systems perform under production conditions. \nTogether\, both walks offer a full picture of dry‑farmed squash\, from establishment to harvest\, highlighting how thoughtful variety selection and low‑water management can support climate‑resilient production across the PNW. \nDate: September 11th\, 2026\nTime: 3pm – 5pm\nLocation: Roots Farm Poulsbo\, WA\nSpeaker: Jen Clark\, Roots Farm\nAudience: Farmers \nRegistration Details: SAVE THE DATE – REGISTRATION COMING SOON! \nPlease only register for the farm walk if you plan to attend as there is limited space for this event.
