This Farm Walk will feature a full range of worm\u2011composting systems\u2014from simple, low\u2011cost DIY setups to flow\u2011through units and larger farm\u2011scale worm bins\u2014designed to turn local food scraps into high\u2011value fertility.<\/p>\n<p>Participants will see each system in action and learn how they construct, operate, and maintain them under real farm conditions. Roots Farm will be sharing about how they collaborate with food banks and community partners to divert food waste from landfills, and they will provide replicable designs that fit operations of all sizes, from market gardens to diversified farms.<\/p>\n<p>A core theme of the class is building local resilience: creating on\u2011farm fertility using locally available waste streams to reduce dependence on off\u2011farm inputs\u2014especially important during times of supply\u2011chain instability and rising input costs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Date:<\/strong> May 27th, 2026<br \/>\n<strong>Time:<\/strong> 5pm \u2013 7pm<br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong> Roots Farm Poulsbo, WA<br \/>\n<strong>Speaker:<\/strong> Jen Clark, Roots Farm<br \/>\n<strong>Audience:<\/strong> Farmers<\/p>\n<p><strong>Registration Details: <span style=\"color: red;font-weight: bold\">SAVE THE DATE &#8211; REGISTRATION COMING SOON!<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please only register for the farm walk if you plan to attend as there is limited space for this event.
