Summit Overview

It’s All About the Carbon!

Join us for the 2024 San Juan Islands Agricultural Summit on Friday March 8 and Saturday March 9 at Camp Orkila on Orcas Island. This year we are looking through the lens of carbon to understand soil health, fertility, land stewardship, and climate resiliency.

The San Juan Islands Agriculture Summit is a valued annual event that provides a unique opportunity for the food and agricultural community from across the islands, and beyond, to gather. Designed as a space for inspiration, education, and camaraderie, the Ag Summit features a keynote, hands-on workshops, presentations by farmers and regional specialists, panel discussions, meals and social events.

Schedule Details:

Friday March 8: Workshops & Social Event

7am – 1pm Summit Hub and gathering space at Camp Orkila, main dining hall. Summit participants are invited to stop by at their convenience throughout the day to ask questions, enjoy a cup of coffee, and see friends.

9 – 11:30am AM In-person workshops held around the island.

1:30 – 4pm PM In-person workshops held around the island.

5 – 6pm Lightning Talks with Liz Carlisle, a free event open to all at Oddfellows Hall.

6 – 9pm Join us at the Oddfellows Hall for dinner and socializing at the Summit Social Event. *This will be a separate ticket. Stay tuned for more info!

Saturday March 9: Main Conference Day

7am – 4:30pm Everyone will gather in-person at the amazing Camp Orkila. Breakfast and keynote by Liz Carlisle to start the day. Breakout sessions begin right after the keynote. We’ll come back together for lunch, camaraderie and announcements and then continue with two more breakout sessions.

*Early Bird Registration promotion ends January 29 at 5pm.

*The deadline for pre-registration is 11:30 pm February 29.

  • Workshops: Early Bird $32 each / Regular Registration $40
  • “Germinating Ideas: Lightning talks on carbon, climate and agriculture in SJC” with Liz Carlisle, a free event open to all at Oddfellows Hall

Saturday

  • All day conference: Early Bird $120 / Regular Registration $150; includes all day programming, coffee/ tea, breakfast & lunch
