SUMMARY:San Juan Forest Owner's Field Day
DESCRIPTION:Sharpen your stewardship skills at the San Juan Islands forest owners Field Day. \nThis all day Out-In-The-Woods event will feature workshops\, demonstrations\, tours and resources on a variety of topics for forest property owners of all experience levels. Participants can attend up to five workshops taught by state and local experts. Over a dozen different topics will be offered. Learn about forest issues specific to the San Juan Islands\, how to foster healthy and resilient forest conditions\, pursue fun new projects and how to achieve your goals for your property. The Field Day will feature a variety of different outdoor workshops to choose from covering a wide range of topics. \nTopics covered include: \n\nForest insects and diseases\nFire risk reduction\nWildlife habitat enhancement\nForest soils\nTree planting and site preparation\nAnd much more!\n\nThe Field Day will also feature exhibits by local agencies and organizations that assist owners of forested property. \nSchedule: \n\n8:00am – Gates open – time to mingle with vendors.\n9:00am -12:20pm – Field Day workshops rotating every hour.\n12:20pm-1:20pm – Lunch (not provided\, Bring your own)\n1:20pm-3:30pm – Field Day workshops rotating every hour.\n\nLocation: \nThis event will be held on a private forestland near Friday Harbor.
