You might sew, cook, work with animals or can preserves, or maybe you are a computer tech, athlete, artist, or metalworker. All of these activities and more can lead to a spark of learning in a young mind! If you\u2019ve put years into studying seashells, studying nature, designing websites, or showing dogs \u2013 4-H needs you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adult volunteers are essential to 4-H program. There are many ways you can support our 4-H family as a volunteer. If you\u2019re great at organizing, fundraising, planning events, working behind the scenes, give our San Juan County 4-H Program Coordinator a call! New in 2025, training will begin October and run through February 2026 via <a href=\"https:\/\/greenschool.extension.wsu.edu\/home\/wgs-course-options\/become-an-extension-master-gardener\/\">Washington Green School<\/a>. Applications will be accepted in summer 2025. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Class topics include soils, plant disease and management, water quality, composting, weed identification and much more. Washington Green School combines online instruction by state and regional experts, on-line quizzes and exam and locally based in-person training components.&nbsp; After completing the course, volunteers are enrolled in a one-year internship program.
