Young people aged 5-18 (as of October 1st) are invited to discover their passions, develop new skills, and make lasting friendships by enrolling in one of the nation&#8217;s premier youth development organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;A new 4-H year is always incredibly exciting,&#8221; says Clinton Gauthier, 4-H Program Coordinator. &#8220;It&#8217;s a chance for our youth to explore interests from animal science to robotics, gain valuable leadership skills, and connect with caring mentors and peers. We can&#8217;t wait to welcome new and returning members to the 4-H family!&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Discover Your Passion: San Juan County&#8217;s Diverse 4-H Clubs<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>San Juan County 4-H boasts a vibrant array of clubs, offering something for every interest. Whether a child dreams of working with animals, designing the next big invention, or giving back to their community, there&#8217;s a 4-H club ready to nurture their ambitions. Local clubs often focus on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Animal Projects:<\/strong> From caring for livestock like <strong>sheep, goats, and swine<\/strong> to developing bonds with <strong>horses<\/strong> and learning about <strong>poultry<\/strong>, these clubs teach responsibility, animal husbandry, and showmanship.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Still Life &amp; Creative Arts:<\/strong> Members can delve into baking, cooking, photography, sewing, visual arts, and more, fostering creativity and practical life skills.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>STEM &amp; Robotics:<\/strong> Engaging with science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through hands-on projects that spark curiosity and problem-solving abilities. This is a growing and developing project area for San Juan County. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Environmental Stewardship:<\/strong> Connecting with nature through gardening, conservation efforts, and outdoor adventures.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Community Service &amp; Leadership:<\/strong> Developing critical leadership skills while contributing positively to local communities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This diversity allows youth to pursue existing hobbies or discover entirely new ones in a supportive, hands-on environment. All enrollment for the new 4-H year is conducted online through the secure 4-H Online system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wsu-spacing-after--sxxsmall\">To enroll:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\">\n<li>Visit the official <a href=\"https:\/\/v2.4honline.com\/\">4-H Online<\/a> website.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Follow the prompts to create a new family profile or log in to an existing one.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select your desired clubs and projects.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete the registration process.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Need assistance? We are always looking for interested adult volunteers to help our youth to thrive. If you are interested in becoming a 4-H volunteer and\/or club\/project leader. Please visit our <a href=\"https:\/\/extension.wsu.edu\/sanjuan\/4h\/volunteer-with-4-h\/\">Volunteer with 4-H page<\/a> to see the full process and requirements.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wsu-spacing-after--xxsmall\">We will also be hosting a couple of Volunteer Trainings for interested individuals, please fill out an <a href=\"https:\/\/extension.wsu.edu\/sanjuan\/4h\/volunteer-with-4-h\/volunteer-training-registration-sign-up\/\">event registration<\/a> so we can get you more information and ensure that you are prepared. The dates of the trainings are currently scheduled for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li class=\"wsu-spacing-after--sxxsmall\">October 25th <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"wsu-spacing-after--sxxsmall\">November 8th<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p>The 4-H program empowers youth to become confident, capable, and compassionate leaders. With a focus on hands-on learning, positive mentorship, and community engagement, the upcoming year promises countless opportunities for personal growth and achievement.
