4-H Healthy Living for Kids

4-H Kid’s Cooking and Healthy Living Activity Kits

These kits were created for 4-H clubs and families to explore healthy eating and active living together using 4-H and CHFFF curriculum. They are most suitable for youth aged 8 to 14, however, lessons are adaptable to reach a wider age range, if desired.

Each kit includes two step-by-step options to facilitate lessons:

  • use pre-recorded lessons, or
  • teach content directly from the curriculum.

Materials / shopping lists for games, activities, and recipes are also included.

To maintain the integrity of the curriculum and meet grant requirements, all eight lessons must be taught / presented as written and completed by December 31, 2023. Participants will submit a brief, anonymous final evaluation survey by December 31, 2023.

Four Easy Steps to Participate

  1. Determine the number of youth in your club, family, or group that will participate in kit activities. Kits can be used in a small family setting or in a large club. You will let us know how many youth you plan to reach in Step 2.
  2. Fill out this brief survey to receive your kit: https://wsu.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_9Qw7k2KH17s8jau
  3. Have fun conducting all eight lessons with your group, being sure to complete all lessons before December 31, 2023.
  4. Ask each participant to complete a brief survey about their experience by December 31, 2023.
