10:00 – 11:30 a.m. Project Leadership
(Snohomish County 4-H)
Instructor: Kim Baker
Description: 4-H methodology of experiential learning, including life skills wheel and hands-on practice. (Prerequisite for project leaders, required within 2 years of becoming a program leader- also required for Youth Development pin)
10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Group Basics
(Open to All)
Instructor: Ashley Hernandez-Hall
Description: Learn how groups evolve over time, and pick up some practical skills and activities that can be employed in each stage of your group’s development, including the group agreement, 4-H meeting structure, conflict management, tips for evaluating success, and empathy, one of the most powerful tools in your volunteer toolbelt.

Instructor: Brian & Cindy Brandt
Description: Learn how to guide your club or group in establishing their common norms. What behaviors do they agree they can expect from one another? What life skills will they practice when together? We will explore how such agreements can be utilized and updated throughout the year to help the group through difficulties and to get along better.
1:00 – 2:30 p.m. Peer Consultation
(Open to All)
Instructor: Wendy Waxman Kern
Description: Learn a technique to help you address sticky problems. This group approach can give you some fresh perspective and new ideas for solutions.
3:00 – 5:00 p.m. Conflict Management
(Open to All)
Instructor: Ashley Hernandez-Hall
Description: People respond to conflict in varying ways. Find out your default method and how to respond to others.
3:00 – 5:00 p.m. Delegation
(Open to All)
Instructor: Beth Wangen
Description: Find out why it is so hard to delegate, and why you should do it anyway! Learn proven techniques, and leave with a plan to make your life easier and your work more effective.
