Beach Clean-Up @ Howarth Park
September 24 @ 9:00 am - 10:00 am
Join us as we clean-up bottles, cigarette butts, fishing gear and other plastic debris from our local beaches. According to National Geographic Magazine “More than 200 animal species have been documented consuming plastic, including turtles, whales, seal, birds, and fish.”
We’ll meet in the parking lot. Bring heavy garden or work gloves, an old 5-gallon bucket and pickers if you have them. If not, we can provide them for you.
Remember to dress for the weather and the soggy shoreline. Most trash is above the wrack line, so you shouldn’t be in the water. However, beaches do have fresh water streams that may need to be crossed.
Plan on being on the beach about an hour. We alternate every other month between Howarth Park Beach and Picnic Point County Park Beach. Also, be aware, there are no restroom facilities at Howarth Park.
