Join us for this highly anticipated agriculture and forestry conference!

During this year’s Focus on Farming and Forestry—titled “Nurturing your future”—participants will find an exciting mix of topics, ideas, and speakers focused on helping expand the opportunities, sustainability, and economic viability of the region’s farms and forestlands.

This year’s conference will feature 24 workshops in 7 industry tracks:

  • Industrial Hemp Production
  • Agritourism
  • How to Start A Flower Growing Business
  • Getting Started in Farming (including how to buy a farm, what your record management is telling you and how to promote your own success);
  • Grazing Strategies to Increase Soil Health
  • How to Sell Local Meats
  • Growing Herbs in Your Forests and Clearings

Keynote Speakers:

  • Morning keynote speaker: Erin Pirro
    Bio: Erin has been helping farmers large and small make their businesses run better since 2001. As a Certified Agricultural Consultant for Farm Credit East with a background in agricultural economics, Erin’s focus is on benchmarking and profitability improvement because sustainability means economics, too!
  • Lunchtime keynote speaker: Michael Rosmann, Ph. D.
    Bio: A farmer and psychologist, Dr. Rosmann’s professional work has contributed to the understanding of why people farm, their unique behavioral health issues (including how farmers’ behavioral health is positively correlated with their crop productivity, the health of their livestock, and sound decision-making), as well as what research has found to be most effective in addressing stress, depression, and making difficult financial choices.
