SCMGF Winter Speaker Series: Fire Resistant Landscaping for Western Washington

March 11, 2022 @ 9:30 am - 11:30 am

Snohomish County Master Gardener Foundation 19th Annual Sustainable Gardening Winter Speaker Series

Join us for The Annual SCMGF Sustainable Gardening Winter Speaker Series, from the comfort of your own home, via Zoom!

Topic:

“Fire Resistant Landscaping for Western Washington”

Description:

Wildland fire is natural component of the environmental in the Pacific Northwest. On the west side of the Cascades the fire-free interval is much greater than that on the eastside of the mountains. Regardless of what side of the mountains that we abide, there will be wildland fires.

Wildland fires do not have to be destructive to our homes and improvements. We can live in harmony with the cycles of fire, whether long or short return intervals. Selecting, planting, and maintaining the vegetation in the home ignition zone is one of the common denominators to determine the survivability of our homes in the Pacific Northwest.

.

Cost:

$85 for the entire series, if purchased in advance. Tickets for individual sessions will be available for $20, starting January 1st, based on availability. Limited space available. For more information on the full series schedule and purchasing tickets, visit: www.gardenlectures.com
