SUMMARY:Styrofoam Recycling Collection Event
DESCRIPTION:Do you have Styrofoam occupying your home? Filling up garages\, corners\, and closets? Then bring your (clean) Styrofoam to our FREE collection event on Saturday\, August 2nd from 10am to 12pm (2-hour collection window) to the Northwest Stream Center in McCollum Park!\n\nThe Snohomish County WSU Sustainable Community Stewards will be waiting in the parking lot near the Center at 600 128th St. SE\, Everett\, WA to collect your Styrofoam\, which will then be trucked down to StyroRecycle in Kent.\n\nCollection will take place from 10am to 12pm. We will collect material until we reach capacity. Donations to the WSU Snohomish County Extension Sustainable Community Stewards are welcome to fund future Styrofoam collection events.\n\nYou can bring:\nCLEAN\, DRY\, TAPE AND LABEL FREE\n\nStyrofoam to-go containers and food trays\nbagged Styrofoam packing peanuts (Please check that they are not the biodegradable kind)\nbubble wrap\nLPDE #4 foam\nStyrofoam block packaging\, coolers\, and sheets\nPink\, blue\, or gray XPS foam insulation.\n\nUNACCEPTED ITEMS:\n\nSpray-in foam\nInsta-Pak foam\nGrey insta-pak foam\nFoil-lined foam\nHot tub covers\n\nFor more information on what we do/don’t accept\, please visit https://styrorecycle.com \nFunded by Snohomish County Solid Waste. SUMMARY:Upcycled Art Workshop
DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, January 31st from 11am to 1pm you can create beautiful collage art using recycled paper you can find around the house and learn about sustainability in the Snohomish County and beyond!\n\nJoin volunteers from WSU Snohomish County Extension Sustainable Community Stewards at the Community Resource Center in Stanwood to create upcycled art and to learn how to reduce waste in Snohomish County. Participants are encouraged to bring old magazines\, newspapers\, and other paper materials from home to make their collage art. All other supplies for collaging will be provided.
