DESCRIPTION:Want to make a difference through gardening and home horticulture outreach? The application period for the WSU Extension Master Gardener Program is officially open! Gain expert knowledge\, volunteer in your community\, and help create a greener\, more resilient future. \nThe WSU Extension Master Gardener Program is one of two options offered through WSU Extension’s Washington Green School; the other is the Washington Gardener certificate. Create that perfect balance of fruit\, sweetener\, and other ingredients to enhance flavor and shelf life with research-based recipes. Low and no-sugar recipes covered. \nThird in the Preserve the Harvest series\, we’ll cover the basics of making shelf-stable jams\, jellies\, and preserves. In addition\, there will be plenty of time for your canning questions after the presentation. \nA list of recommended resources will be provided via email the next day to those registered along with a link to a video recording of the class. The video recording will be available to view for one year after the class occurs. SUMMARY:DIY Green Cleaning Workshop
DESCRIPTION:DIY environmentally and budget friendly cleaning products\n\nJoin Kellee Byard\, Sustainable Communities Program Coordinator at the WSU Snohomish County Extension\, to learn how to make environmentally friendly cleaning supplies from simple household ingredients.\n\nThis workshop will take place on Thursday\, July 10th from 2pm to 3pm. It will be at the Mountlake Terrace Library.\n\nFirst\, the workshop will include a presentation on the risks of household hazardous waste and how to dispose of it. Then\, Kellee will demo a product from the “Green Cleaning” recipe booklet. After\, you can create your own cleaning supplies from the provided materials. Each participant receives a recipe booklet and will take home at least one cleaning product they made during the workshop.\n\nRegister on Mountlake Terrace Library’s webpage for the event; there is limited space.
