SUMMARY:Styrofoam Recycling Collection Event
DESCRIPTION:Do you have Styrofoam occupying your home? Filling up garages\, corners\, and closets? Then bring your (clean) Styrofoam to our FREE collection event on Saturday\, April 18th from 10am to 12pm (2-hour collection window) to the western parking lot in McCollum Park!\n\nThe Snohomish County WSU Sustainable Community Stewards will be waiting in the parking lot near the Center at 600 128th St. SE\, Everett\, WA to collect your Styrofoam\, which will then be transported to Styro Recycle in Kent by the Marysville Food Bank.\n\nCollection will take place from 10am to 12pm. We will collect material until we reach capacity. Donations\, whether food or monetary\, to the Marysville Food Bank are highly encouraged.\nYou can bring:\nCLEAN\, DRY\, TAPE AND LABEL FREE\n\nStyrofoam to-go containers and food trays\nbagged Styrofoam packing peanuts (Please check that they are not the biodegradable kind)\nbubble wrap\nLPDE #4 foam\nStyrofoam block packaging\, coolers\, and sheets\nPink\, blue\, or gray XPS foam insulation.\n\nUNACCEPTED ITEMS:\n\nSpray-in foam\nInsta-Pak foam\nGrey insta-pak foam\nFoil-lined foam\nHot tub covers\n\nFor more information on what we do/don’t accept\, please visit https://styrorecycle.com \nFunded by Snohomish County Solid Waste. We will accept all types of paint\, from latex to oil-based\, so bring them all! Our team of experts will be on hand to guide you through the process and ensure everything is properly recycled. \n\n\n\nAll paint recycling is FREE and UNLIMITED! 5-gallon or smaller containers. No need to dry out your paint before you drop it off. \n\n\n\nSpread the word and invite your friends and neighbors to join in. Together\, let’s make a positive impact on our community and the planet. Don’t forget to mark your calendars for this exciting event! \n\n\n\n What We Can & Can’t Take\n\n\n\nBefore you load the car\, check this list! We only accept products designed for “architectural” use—essentially\, things you’d use to paint or seal a house. \n\n\n\n YES: We Accept These (House & Home)\n\n\n\nProducts must be in their original containers (5 gallons or smaller) with a readable label. \n\n\n\n\nHouse Paint: Interior and exterior (Latex\, Oil-based\, Enamel).\n\n\n\nDeck & Floor: Deck stains\, floor paints\, and slip-resistant coatings.\n\n\n\nPreparation: Primers\, sealers\, and undercoaters.\n\n\n\nWood Finishes: Stains\, varnishes\, shellacs\, and lacquers (single-part only).\n\n\n\nWaterproofing: Clear sealers for wood\, concrete\, or masonry (like Thompson’s).\n\n\n\nMetal: Rust-preventative paints and metal coatings.\n\n\n\nSports Fields: Paint used for grass/lawns or sports fields.\n\n\n\n\n NO: We Cannot Accept These\n\n\n\nIf it’s for a car\, a boat\, a craft project\, or a roof\, we likely can’t take it. \n\n\n\n\nConstruction Materials: Stucco\, grout\, plaster\, joint compound\, and cement-based products.\n\n\n\nAerosols: Anything in a spray can.\n\n\n\nChemicals: Paint thinners\, mineral spirits\, solvents\, and deck cleaners.\n\n\n\nAdhesives: Glues\, caulking\, epoxies\, and 2-part resins.\n\n\n\nVehicles: Auto paint and marine (boat) paint.\n\n\n\nRoofing: Tar\, asphalt\, bitumen-based sealers\, or roof patch/repair.\n\n\n\nIndustrial: Road-marking paint or heavy industrial coatings.\n\n\n\nSmall Projects: Tiny bottles of craft or art paint.\n\n\n\n\nFor all events\, we ask that attendees stay in their cars.
