Bring it to a WSU Repair Café!\nYou can bring your vacuums\, lamps\, computers (software issues only)\, bikes\, jewelry\, and one of our volunteer fixers will diagnose the issue and do their best to make it usable again. Our fixers can repair your items and keep stuff from being tossed in the landfill!\n \nBring your family and have the kids get hands-on with the Creation Station!\n\n \nPlease note:\n  \n\nWe cannot fund the cost of any additional parts needed. If your item needs a part for repair\, our volunteer will contact you to discuss this with you.\nWe don’t guarantee repairs\, and we are not responsible for any damages from attempting to repair an item.  So\, you must sign a liability release form before seeing a repair specialist.\nAt these free repair events\, we may decline to work on any item – in advance or at the event – depending on the item\, the type of repair needed\, the fixers available\, or for other reasons. We cannot work on cell phones or Apple products.\nThese meetups take place at locations around Snohomish County throughout the year\, including libraries\, colleges\, and other community centers. Two item maximum per meeting. First come\, first served.\n\n \nSteps To Participate:\n\nArrive at the Monroe Library between 10AM and 2PM.\nRepair Specialists will be on-site to help with your item and will work with you on repairing.\n\nNext Repair Cafe:\n\nTBA\n\nQuestions?\nContact the WSU Snohomish Sustainable Communities Coordinator Kellee Byard at Kellee.Byard@wsu.edu or via phone at 425-357-6027\nWant to be Repair Cafe Volunteer Fixer or learn more about Snohomish County WSU Extension’s Sustainable Community Stewards Program? SUMMARY:Upcycled Art Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Create beautiful collage art using recycled paper you can find around the house!\n  \nJoin volunteers from WSU Snohomish County Extension Sustainable Community Stewards to create upcycled art and learn how to reduce waste in Snohomish County. We encourage participants to bring old magazines\, newspapers\, and other paper materials from home for collaging. We will provide all other supplies for collaging. \nThe workshop begins with a short presentation on reducing your impact on the Earth. The sustainability coordinator will explain how art can be a mode for positive environmental change. Then\, an art teacher will lead a guided collage activity using recycled paper. \nAdditionally\, participants will use X-Acto knives for the collaging portion\, but there is a 13 and up restriction. Children under 13 are required to use safety scissors or have an adult assisting them. \nRegistration is suggested but not required to help determine the quantity of supplies needed. Head to https://bit.ly/monroeupcycle to view the Monroe Library’s event listing and register. \n\n \n \n ↑\n Back to top
