DESCRIPTION:Got broken stuff? Toss it? No way! Bring it to a WSU Repair Café!\n\nYou can bring your vacuums\, lamps\, computers (software issues only)\, bikes\, jewelry\, and one of our volunteer fixers will diagnose the issue and do their best to make it usable again. They will show you their process\, order parts if necessary\, and help you learn how to do it yourself with one-on-one instruction. Our fixers can repair your items and keep stuff from going to the landfill!\n\nPlease note:\n\nWe cannot fund the cost of any additional parts needed. If your item needs a part for repair\, our volunteer will contact you to discuss this with you.\nWe don’t guarantee repairs\, and we are not responsible for any damages from attempting to repair an item. So\, you must sign a liability release form before seeing a repair specialist.\nAt these free repair events\, we may decline to work on any item – in advance or at the event – depending on the item\, the type of repair needed\, the fixers available\, or for other reasons. We cannot work on cell phones or Apple products.\nTwo item maximum per meeting. SUMMARY:DIY Green Cleaning Workshop
DESCRIPTION:DIY environmentally and budget friendly cleaning products\n\nJoin Kellee Byard\, Sustainable Communities Program Coordinator at the WSU Snohomish County Extension\, to learn how to make environmentally friendly cleaning supplies from simple household ingredients.\n\nThis workshop will take place on Thursday\, July 10th from 2pm to 3pm. It will be at the Mountlake Terrace Library.\n\nFirst\, the workshop will include a presentation on the risks of household hazardous waste and how to dispose of it. Then\, Kellee will demo a product from the “Green Cleaning” recipe booklet. After\, you can create your own cleaning supplies from the provided materials. Each participant receives a recipe booklet and will take home at least one cleaning product they made during the workshop.\n\nRegister on Mountlake Terrace Library’s webpage for the event; there is limited space. SUMMARY:Upcycled Art Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Create beautiful collage art using recycled paper you can find around the house!\n  \nJoin volunteers from WSU Snohomish County Extension Sustainable Community Stewards for a free workshop on Tuesday\, August 12th from 1pm to 3pm at the Mountlake Terrace Library. Participants will create upcycled art and learn how to reduce waste in Snohomish County. The workshop will be held in the meeting room at Mountlake Terrace Library. We encourage participants to bring old magazines\, newspapers\, and other paper materials from home for collaging. We will provide all other collage supplies. \nThe workshop will begin with a short presentation on reducing your impact on the Earth.
