DESCRIPTION:“Raising Livestock 101” Offered this fall by the WSU Livestock Advisor Program in person at Stanwood High School. \nIntegrate livestock onto your farm\, improve your forage production\, raise stress free healthy livestock while minimizing your costs and maximizing production gains. \nA recent graduate shared\, “becoming a WSU Livestock Advisor has connected me to a knowledgeable network of livestock owners in the surrounding areas\, which has been helpful to me when I have encountered health issues or concerns with my livestock.” \nCost of the 10-week course is $125 with a second person from the farm or family free. Classes begin September 26\, 2023\, at Stanwood High School\, Stanwood WA. from 6:00 – 9:00 P.M. SUMMARY:The Country Living and Modern Homesteading Expo
DESCRIPTION:Jan. 27\, 2024  from 8:00-5:00\, Stanwood High School\, Stanwood Washington \nThe Country Living and Modern Homesteading Expo is a gathering\, decades in the making. Located in northwestern Washington state\, it’s a day once a year that people from all backgrounds can come together to learn about homesteading and nature together. From each other. Most of the presenters are volunteers; all are local farmers\, veterinarians\, stockmen\, homesteaders\, and folks that are passionate about food preservation\, soil conservation\, livestock management and production\, gardening\, fibers\, and anything else you can think of that’s related. The local FFA chapter volunteers\, Washington State University Extension provides support\, and a small non-profit called the Livestock Master Foundation all lift together in an immense effort to create an event with great food\, local vendors\, lots of learning\, and a day of true community. People helping people\, whether they know each other or not. Sharing hard earned lessons with others so that all can benefit. A truly remarkable event and coming on January 27\, 2024.
