SUMMARY:Adult Mental Health First Aid Training
DESCRIPTION:Snohomish County WSU Extension invites you to attend our FREE upcoming Adult Mental Health First Aid Training on 12/7 from 9:30am – 4:30pm\, at Stilly Valley Health Connections\, 3405 173rd Place NE\, Arlington\, WA 98223.\n \nRegistration is required. Limited spots available.\n\nTo register for Adult Mental Health First Aid Training\, visit:\nhttps://wsu.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_4HEeKLKpC4XptdA\n \n\nMore about this training:\nMost of us would know how to help if we saw someone having a heart attack — we’d start CPR or call 9-1-1. But too few of us would know how to respond if we saw someone having a panic attack or showing signs of alcoholism.\n\n \nJust as CPR helps you assist an individual having a heart attack\, Mental Health First Aid helps you assist someone experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge or crisis. It takes the fear and hesitation out of starting conversations about mental health or substance use by improving understanding and providing an action plan that teaches people to safely and responsibly identify and address a potential issue.\n \nMental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an evidence-based training program administered by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing that teaches you how to identify\, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges.\n\n \nThe training gives you the skills to reach out and provide initial help and support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use challenge or experiencing a crisis. More than 2.6 million people across the United States have been trained in MHFA by a dedicated base of more than 15\,000 Instructors.\n\n \nQuestions or want to learn about future trainings? Call (425) 357-6044 or email snoco.4h@wsu.edu
