Curious about climate change and how your individual actions can make a difference? Wondering how you can get more engaged in your local community? Get answers to these questions and more by becoming a <em><strong>Snohomish County<\/strong><\/em> <strong><em>WSU Extension Sustainable Community Steward! <\/em><\/strong><em>Training begins this April!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>By enrolling, you receive university-level training grounded in climate change science relevant both within Snohomish County and globally. The training is designed to help you become an informed community educator at recycling events, Repair Caf\u00e9s, workshops, farmers markets, and more. A combination of engaging classroom presentations and discussions paired with behind-the-scenes field trips make this an excellent educational and community engagement opportunity.<\/p>\n<p>The training is on Wednesdays, starting April 23<sup>rd<\/sup> from 6 \u2013 8:30PM at the WSU Snohomish County Extension\/Willis Tucker Park, 6705 Puget Park Dr., Snohomish.<\/p>\n<h3>Schedule:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Wednesdays, 6 \u2013 8:30PM\n<ul>\n<li>April 23<sup>rd<\/sup><\/li>\n<li>April 30<sup>th<\/sup><\/li>\n<li>May 7<sup>th<\/sup><\/li>\n<li>May 14<sup>th<\/sup><\/li>\n<li>May 21<sup>st<\/sup><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Includes an overview of environmental sustainability with a deep dive into waste reduction and recycling right. Zero-waste legislature, food waste prevention, and reducing your carbon footprint are also featured. Field trips to a recycling facility on May 9<sup>th<\/sup> and municipal compost facility on May 16<sup>th<\/sup> are included. <strong>$30 fee*<\/strong>.
