FAQs

Q: Where do I go?

A: 404 N. Havana St. Spokane County Fair and Expo. Enter through the main gate from Havana St., gate G near Broadway Ave.

Q: What labels do I need?

A: Avery 5163. Under $8.00 for 250 labels. https://www.amazon.com/Shipping-Compatible-POLONO-Internet-Permanent/dp/B0BHSQQML9/ref=zg_bs_15400111_sccl_1/133-9028358-4220367?th=1

Q:  How do I price my tack and clothing?

A:  The lowest acceptable price is $1.00 going up in whole dollar increments only.

Q:  After I print my sticker labels, then what?

A:  Keep them on their original sheets and pack them with your tack.  Organize your tack in such a way that we can match the stickers to the item when you check in on Friday, March 10th.  Watch the videos on our website for tips on organizing your tack!  We will have cardstock tags with metal grommets at the Tack Swap to attach your labels onto your items using zip ties.

Q:  Should I clean and wash my tack and clothing?

A:  Yes! We will not accept dirty, smelly, gross tack – no one will buy it anyway!

Q:  How do I donate my tack or clothing at the end of the sale?

A:  For each item you consign, there will be a box you can check to DONATE.  If your item doesn’t sell by the end of the tack swap, it will be donated to Spokane County 4-H Horse Project.

Q:  Should I measure my saddles?  How about bits?

A:  Yes!  Here are some short YouTube videos on how to do this.

Q:  I don’t own a printer. Can I still consign at home?

A:  Yes!  You can do everything online at home.  You can schedule a time on the same consignment website for the Tack Swap volunteers to print your labels on Friday, March 10th.

Q:  Can I just print on cardstock and attach tags myself?

A:  No – not this year.  We need to use our tags with the special metal grommets.  This prevents tags from being separated from your items. Tagged items sell!  We cannot sell your item if the tag is not attached.

Q:  What is an equestrian?

A:  An equestrian is the human that rides a horse.  Equestrian Footwear is an example of a category that is on the consignment program which means RIDER FOOTWEAR; HUMAN FOOTWEAR.

Q:  If I am a volunteer, should I sign up for a drop off /check-in time on Friday?

A:  NO – you must get all your consigning done prior to the tack swap and we will have a special table for volunteers to check in their tack on Friday.  Please take tags home from one of in-person training meetings and do your sticker labels before the swap.  You can zip tie your stuff at home too!

Tips

  • Research the value of your item.
  • Use as much detail as possible in your tag description. (Brand, size, type)
