If so\, then Sunday\, July 27 is a day your houseplants will have their day to shine in the sunlight. \nJoin the WSU Master Gardeners and the Olympia Farmers Market in celebrating National Take Your Houseplant for a Walk Day. \nBring one of your houseplants to the Olympia Farmers Market – Gallacci Garden and join other houseplant enthusiasts for houseplant themed activities and a walk through the garden and market. \nLocation: Olympia Farmers Market – 700 Capitol Way N\, Olympia WA 98501 \nSchedule of Events: \n10:30am – Houseplant Activity Stations in the Garden \n\nName Your Houseplant Sign & Coloring Station\nDecorate Your Houseplant\nLearn About & Care for Your Houseplants\n\n11:00am – Take Your Houseplant for a Walk – Parade \n\nWe will meet at the WSU Master Gardener shed at the corner of the garden closest to the Market. The shed is next to the large solar panel pole.\nLook for a volunteers holding a large plant flags.\nOnce we get everyone lined-up between the flags we will begin our walk with our plants through the garden and market.\nThe entire walk (a slow stroll) should take no more than 30 minutes. Carry your plant or bring it in a wagon/stroller etc.\n\nWSU Master Gardeners and Master Recycler Composter volunteers will also be hosting a Question/Answer clinic from 10am to 3pm at the Market. DESCRIPTION:The Application period for the 2025 WSU Master Gardener Volunteer Training is now open. The 2025 training course has approximately 75 hours of comprehensive virtual\, classroom\, and field-based instruction\, starting Friday\, Jan. 31\, 2025 and ending Friday\, June 6\, 2025. This training is provided by the Washington State University (WSU) Thurston County Extension Master Gardener Program. \nWSU Extension staff and regional experts will teach you how to use resources to research and educate best gardening practices. You will also learn how to answer horticulture questions from the general public. Training topics include basic botany\, integrated pest management\, soil science\, plant identification\, pest\, and disease diagnosis\, and more. \nIn addition\, you will complete lesson assignments at home between class sessions. After completion of training\, participants are expected to share what they learned via horticultural-related community service. \nTuition for the training is $335 and covers all course training supplies and field trips. DESCRIPTION:The Application period for the 2024 WSU Master Gardener Volunteer Training is now open. The 2024 training course has 79 hours of comprehensive virtual\, classroom\, and field-based instruction\, starting Friday\, Jan. 26\, 2024 and ending Friday\, June 7\, 2024. This training is provided by the Washington State University (WSU) Thurston County Extension Master Gardener Program. \nWSU Extension staff and regional experts will teach you how to use resources to research and educate best gardening practices. You will also learn how to answer horticulture questions from the general public. Training topics include basic botany\, integrated pest management\, soil science\, plant identification\, pest\, and disease diagnosis\, and more. \nIn addition\, you will complete lesson assignments at home between class sessions. After completion of training\, participants are expected to share what they learned via horticultural-related community service. \nTuition for the training is $325 and covers all course training supplies and field trips. Payment plans and a limited number of full or partial scholarships are available. If yes\, then we want you to join the Washington State University Extension Master Gardener Program. \nThe WSU Thurston County Extension Master Gardener Program is recruiting adults for the 2022 WSU Master Gardener Volunteer Training. The 2022 training course involves about 75 hours of comprehensive virtual\, classroom and field-based instruction\, starting January 28 and ending June 10\, 2022.   In addition\, trainees will be expected to complete lesson assignments at home between class sessions. \nThe WSU Master Gardener program is following all COVID-19 statewide mandates and safety procedures. To participate in the course all trainees must be fully vaccinated by the first day of class on January 28\, 2022. \nTuition for the training is $325 and covers all course training supplies and field trips.
