If so\, then Sunday\, July 26 is a day your houseplants will have their day to shine in the sunlight. \n\n\n\nJoin the WSU Master Gardeners in celebrating National Take Your Houseplant for a Walk Day. \n\n\n\nBring one of your houseplants to the Olympia Farmers Market – Gallacci Garden and join other houseplant enthusiasts for houseplant themed activities and a walk through the garden and market. \n\n\n\nLocation: Olympia Farmers Market – 700 Capitol Way N\, Olympia WA 98501 \n\n\n\n    \n\n		\n					\n			\n		\n									\n				Decorate your houseplant with a special sign and free decorations. 			\n							\n	\n\n\n		\n					\n			\n		\n									\n				Great activity for kids and families.			\n							\n	\n\n\n		\n											\n	\n\n\n\nSchedule of Events:\n\n\n\n10:30am – Houseplant Activity Stations in the Garden \n\n\n\n\nName Your Houseplant Sign & Coloring Station\n\n\n\nDecorate Your Houseplant\n\n\n\nLearn About & Care for Your Houseplants\n\n\n\n\n11:00am – Take Your Houseplant for a Walk – Parade \n\n\n\n\nWe will meet at the WSU Master Gardener shed at the corner of the garden closest to the Market. The shed is next to the large solar panel pole.\n\n\n\nLook for a volunteers holding a large plant flags.\n\n\n\nOnce we get everyone lined-up between the flags we will begin our walk with our plants through the garden and market.\n\n\n\nThe entire walk should take no more than 15 minutes. Carry your plant or bring it in a wagon/stroller etc.  \n\n\n\n\nWSU Master Gardeners volunteers will also be hosting a Question/Answer clinic from 10am to 3pm at the Market. DESCRIPTION:Learn the basics of worm composting at Olympia Farmers Market Demonstration Garden. \n\n\n\nThe Master Recycler Composter Program of Thurston County offers free in-person and virtual composting workshops monthly from March to October.  Workshops are great for new and experienced composters. \n\n\n\nWorkshops are free and open to the public.  No advance registration is required for in-person workshops. \n\n\n\nLearning how to compost enables you to produce a soil amendment that has many benefits in the garden and keeps waste out of the landfill. \n\n\n\nBenefits of using compost include: \n\n\n\n\nImproves soil structure and fertility\n\n\n\nIncreases moisture holding capacity of soil\n\n\n\nImproved plant growth\n\n\n\nProtects soil from erosion when used as a mulch
