Join WSU Extension Thurston County Master Gardener volunteers to learn about Firewise Plants and techniques to increase your home garden\u2019s fire resistance and resilience. Attendees will learn about the different fire wise zones, plant selections, and help install plants into the new Zone 1 demonstration plot at Dirt Works. Please dress for the weather, bring your gloves, and water. Shareable snacks are welcome!<\/p>\n
Anyone, 10 years old and older, is welcome to attend and participate.\u00a0 A completed and signed non-volunteer waiver is required to participate, and forms will be available.<\/p>\n
Be advised that there is a baseball tournament scheduled for the same day so parking will be tight.\u00a0 As always, parking at Yauger Park, where Dirt Works Demonstration Garden is located, is first come first serve.<\/p>\n

Directions:<\/strong>\u00a0From the East, take Hwy 101 to the\u00a0Black Lake\u00a0Blvd. exit.\u00a0Turn right off the ramp but stay in your left lane so you can turn left onto Cooper Point Road. Follow\u00a0Cooper Point Road\u00a0until you reach\u00a0Capital Mall Drive SW.\u00a0 Turn Left.\u00a0 Follow Capital Mall Drive until you reach Alta street. Turn right and follow the road into Yauger Park.\u00a0Dirt Works garden\u00a0is at the end of the parking lot.<\/p>\n From the West, take Hwy 101 to the Black Lake Blvd. Exit.\u00a0 Turn Left on Black Lake Blvd and go approximately 0.2 miles to Cooper Point Road. Turn Left.\u00a0\u00a0 Go approximately half a mile to Capital Mall Drive SW.\u00a0 Turn Left.\u00a0 Travel approximately 100 yards from the corner and turn right onto Alta street. Follow the road into Yauger Park.
