Certificate and scholarships available.<\/p>\n<h2><a href=\"http:\/\/extension.wsu.edu\/water\/molt-search\/\">Molt Search<\/a><\/h2>\n<p>Washington State University Extension and Washington Sea Grant have teamed up to launch a new volunteer-based early detection program called Molt Search. \u00a0If you enjoy walking on the beach, or have shoreline property, you can make a meaningful contribution to help prevent this voracious predator from establishing large populations in the Salish Sea.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #800000\"><a style=\"color: #800000\" title=\"PEP\" href=\"http:\/\/pep.wsu.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">WSU Integrated Pest Management and Pesticide Safety<\/a><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Workshops, training and recertification program. They join Shore Stewards to learn better ways of managing their own land to protect local waters and preserve critical habitat for fish, wildlife and birds. Members receive a regular newsletter with timely information about shoreline living from their WSU County Extension office.\u00a0Shore Stewards can pick up a Shore Steward sign and Shoreline Living DVD while supplies last. An in-depth training program of 40-100 hours is usually followed by volunteer service. Training is conducted by local and regional experts and covers a broad array of topics including coastal geology, marine ecology, stormwater and toxics, shellfish, native plants, salmon, and climate change. Graduates of the programs have provided tens of thousands of volunteer hours. Working individually or in teams they provide service in the areas of stewardship, research and education. Classes, workshops, and field days are available, as well as publications, videos, and online resources to help you achieve your goals as a forest owner.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #800000\"><a style=\"color: #800000\" title=\"Master Gardeners\" href=\"http:\/\/mastergardener.wsu.edu\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Master Gardeners<\/a><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>WSU Extension Master Gardener Program trains volunteers to be effective community educators in gardening and environmental stewardship. Master Gardeners provide information generated from research at WSU and other university systems. The training consists of on-line and in-classroom training followed by volunteer service.
