Growers\/foresters can keep using the same \u201capproved\u201d training materials from 2016.<\/li>\n<li>WSDA Compliance will only be enforcing the original 1994 rule.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 1.2em;background-color: #ffb81c\">Washington State\u2019s Dept. of Labor &amp; Industries has more restrictive requirements for worker safety than the federal Agricultural Worker Protection Standard. This <a href=\"https:\/\/cms.agr.wa.gov\/WSDAKentico\/Documents\/Pubs\/839-DifferncesBetweenStateFederalWPSRequirements.pdf\">WSDA fact sheet<\/a> delineates the differences.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Train-the-trainer<\/h3>\n<p>An <a href=\"http:\/\/pesticideresources.org\/wps\/ttt\/course\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">EPA-approved online course<\/a> to help employers of agricultural pesticides train workers to meet the new training requirements of the 2015 revised federal Worker Protection Standard (WPS) is available. The fee-based course provides <strong>information required to train those who will, in turn, train workers under WPS.<\/strong> The course includes 12 self-paced learning modules and takes approximately 2-3 hours to complete. Upon successful completion of the final exam, employers will be issued a WPS pesticide safety trainer certification.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/pesticideresources.org\/wps\/ttt\/manual\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">EPA-approved manual for trainers<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/pesticideresources.org\/wps\/inventory.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">EPA-approved PowerPoint presentations for annual WPS worker or handler training<\/a>. (Look for <strong><em>EPA Worker PST 00017<\/em><\/strong> or <strong><em>EPA Handler PST 00018<\/em><\/strong> in the <em>EPA Approved?<\/em> column of the Training Resources Table to view the appropriate presentation.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Worker Training<\/h3>\n<p>The Pesticide Educational Resources Collaborative (PERC) has published the <em><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/pesticideresources.org\/wps\/hosted\/PERC-WPS-Respirator-Guide.pdf\">WPS Respiratory Protection Guide: Requirements for Employers of Pesticide Handlers (pdf)<\/a>.<\/strong><\/em> PERC is a new cooperative agreement between the EPA\u2019s Office of Pesticide Programs and University of California Davis Extension, in collaboration with Oregon State University.
