Strengthening Families Program for Parents and Youth 10-14 years (SFP)

Program Overview

Strengthening Families Program for Parents and Youth 10-14 years is a nationally-recognized program in the prevention of substance abuse and other youth risk behaviors. This educational series brings parents/caregivers and their children together in an interactive learning environment with curriculum that helps families build and practice communication skills and problem-solving tools to face today’s challenges head on. Yakima County supports community organizations who implement the English version and the culturally adapted Spanish-language versions, Fortaleciendo Familias.

For more information about upcoming facilitator training for Strengthening Families 10-14, Fortaleciendo Familias, or other parenting programs, please contact AnaMaria Diaz Martinez, statewide program lead, at a.martinez@wsu.edu.
