Autumn serves as 4-H Youth Development Program Manager, overseeing 4-H clubs, staff <\/span>and volunteers in Yakima County. With over <\/span>twenty years of  experience as an education <\/span>specialist and teacher in historically <\/span>marginalized communities, Autumn specializes <\/span>in creating large scale programming that meets <\/span>a wide range of needs. She is passionate about <\/span>social-emotional learning (SEL), diversity, <\/span>equity, inclusion (DEI) and the power of <\/span>cross-curricular instruction to fuel life-long <\/span>learning. This is a friendly reminder that the deadline for members and volunteers to submit their enrollments is July 31st<\/strong>.  After that date, enrollments are no longer accepted fro the 2023-2023 program year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4-H at the Holiday Orchard Park Fathers Day event!<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Four awesome 4-H clubs gathered for a weekend event to educate our community about fun critters, the science behind volcanoes, play outdoor games, and make a craft – all while enjoying some ice cream!  Thank you to our 4-H volunteers & youth members for your time and efforts in making this event a success!  Be sure to check out the highlights of this event on KIMA!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yakima County 4-H Leaders\u2019 Council Meeting
June 29th at 6:30 pm<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

You are invited to the next Yakima County 4-H Leaders\u2019 Council Meeting scheduled on July 29th, at 6:30 pm in the WSU Extension Of\ufb01ce large conference room. Volunteers, leaders, members and families are all invited to attend. This is your council and it’s very important to have your input on the decisions made. At this speci\ufb01c meeting, we will be forming of\ufb01cial committees for future activities and events this year, such as public presentations, record book judging, and more. We also intend on setting dates for next years contests and events. We hope to see you there! In efforts to keep our 4-H community actively involved with decision making process, the Yakima County Leaders\u2019 Council Board members and Extension Of\ufb01ce have teamed up in making our documents transparent to all through Google Drive. Yakima County 4-H Dog Show<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Hey all you dog lovers! Have you heard about the 4-H dog show in August? The 4-H Dog Show is scheduled to be held at the Selah United Methodist Church on August 17th at 9:00 am<\/strong>. This event is considered a county qualifier for the Washington State 4-H Fair in Puyallup and is open to all 4-H members in Yakima and neighboring counties. Registration is due August 10th<\/strong> and can be found on the WSU Extension 4-H Forms page<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recording of 4-H Poultry Virtual Fit and Show Clinic – Now Available!<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The recording of the 4-H Poultry Virtual Fit and Show clinic is now available! The clinic is for any youth or volunteer looking for basic information on fair preparation for poultry including Fitting & Showing, pest control, and bathing. The recording is approximately 1.5 hours. We\u2019d appreciate it if you\u2019d take the survey at the end. You can access the recording on WSU’s Zoom recording archive<\/a>. The workshop took place on June 9th<\/strong> and was hosted by the WSU Small and Companion Animal Committee and Explore 4-H with WSU Extension.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\r\n\n<\/div>\n\n

Our goal is to have multiple youth speakers sign up within a 1 hour time block, thus creating a built in audience of members waiting to go next.
