Lucky enough for the members of Green Valley 4-H Club, cause they had the opportunity to meet a K-9 in person! Thank you to the Benton County Sheriff&#8217;s Department for allowing Blaze and his trainer to give our youth members a demonstration on being an electronic detection dog. has-text-align-center\">2025 Fashion Revue &amp; Talent Show Recap<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This year\u2019s Annual Fashion Revue was held on <strong>April 18th at 6:30 pm <\/strong>in the Fruitvale Grange, with the theme of <em>\u201cBountiful Harvest\u201d<\/em>. There were so many cool designs and outfits displayed at this event. Congratulations to all the 4-H members who participated at this event! In retirement from WSU, and now the WA 4-H Foundation Board, Burcalow continues to remain a strong supporter of 4-H programs. He personally founded the Harry Burcalow 4-H Endowment for Innovative Grants, funding projects and programs that help 4-H youth serve their communities while learning about leadership, decision-making, responsibility, and healthy lifestyle choices.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The goal of the grant is to fund worthy 4-H youth development programs or projects. Since it was written primarily for WSU campus employees, some parts may feel less relevant to 4-H, so we created a 15-minute training to guide you through what matters!&nbsp; <strong>All 4-H Volunteers in Washington are asked to complete the training by June 1st, 2025. <\/strong>The online training linked below is the quickest training option and doesn\u2019t require any logins. Camp provides the full benefits of a 4-H experience coupled with the fun and wonder of camping in the great outdoors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What<\/strong>: Kitsap 4-H Camp \u2013 2025 Theme \u201cUnder the Olympic Canopy\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>When<\/strong>: July 27, 2025 (5PM) \u2013 July 31, 2025 (10AM)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Who<\/strong>: Campers: Ages 8-16 (as of October 1<sup>st<\/sup>&nbsp;of the year prior to camp date). Prior 4-H membership is not required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Location<\/strong>:&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.panhandlecamp.com\/\">Panhandle Lake 4-H Camp<\/a>, Shelton, WA. It is located on 30 acres of land surrounded by 490 acres of tree farm owned by Panhandle\/WSU\/etc. The setting is ideal for learning and playing in a \u201cwilderness\u201d atmosphere. Buildings include a large dining hall, restrooms with plenty of showers and toilets, and an outdoor covered craft area. Each week we use the lodge one night for a camper dance party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>COST:&nbsp;<\/strong>$270. Students from Japan will be hosted in Washington State,<strong> Friday, July 25th, through Sunday, August 16th<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.states4hexchange.org\/apply\/host\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.states4hexchange.org\/apply\/host\/\">Apply to be a host family this summer!<\/a> The screening process involves background checks, references, and a home visit.&nbsp;Delegates are placed with a youth host sibling in the home of the same gender and up to a four-year age difference. This activity\u2019s main objective is to create a three-dimensional sculpture using all the pieces to create a work of art. Participants may do so by sanding, welding, gluing, cutting, bolting, fastening, bending, shaping, painting or finishing the items that are provided. Projects may also be mounted to a solid base for stability if needed. These buckets may be reserved by contacting Kattie Blanchard at 509-945-9309. All sculptures must be presentation-ready when submitted, <strong>by Saturday, July 12<sup>th<\/sup> from 9am-2pm. <\/strong>Please be sure to return your empty bucket and list of contents! Can be themed or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must provide own full size pallet<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pallet Repurpose- (furniture, planter boxes, d\u00e9cor etc)\n<ol>\n<li>You must provide your own pallet(s).&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must be composed of at least 75%&nbsp; of the used pallet(s).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must be able to transport your project to the West Valley fairgrounds.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Each age division will be awarded a winner in each category. Special awards will be given for the pallet upcycle project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Yakima County 4-H Quilt Block Challenge<\/strong> &#8211; 4-H members can pick up a quilt block kit at the 4-H Office to incorporate with your own fabric to create an unfinished square to be judged at the fair.
