Youth must reach their 5th birthday by October 1st of the current 4-H year to enroll in Washington 4-H.<\/p>\n\n\n<section  class=\"wsu-section  wsu-border--color-crimson\"  >\r\n        \n\n<p>Youth must be 8 by October 1st of the current 4-H year to be eligible for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Competitive situations, such as livestock shows or sales<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enrollment in large animal projects, including Beef, Dairy, Goat, Horse, Sheep, Alpaca\/Llama, and Swine<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enrollment in shooting sports projects<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enrollment in projects using motorized vehicles<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enrollment in food preservation projects<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n    <\/section>\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Cloverbuds, 4-H youth ages 5-7, may participate in a number of age-appropriate activities, though they may not participate in competitive events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/extension.wsu.edu\/yakima\/4-h\/projects-programs\/cloverbuds\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"14142\">Yakima County 4-H Cloverbuds<\/a> page for more information on projects geared specifically for our youngest members!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have questions about eligibility, special circumstances, or project availability, contact your county 4-H coordinator!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More information on Washington State 4-H&#8217;s Policies and Procedures can be found on the <a href=\"https:\/\/extension.wsu.edu\/yakima\/4-h\/4-h-forms\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"3547\">4-H Policies and Forms page<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;Beyond clubs, did you know 4-H youth have the opportunity to participate in county, state, and nation-wide 4-H events and even an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.states4hexchange.org\/\">international exchange program<\/a>?&nbsp;
