{"id":12951,"date":"2022-08-22T09:37:48","date_gmt":"2022-08-22T16:37:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/extension.wsu.edu\/yakima\/?p=12951"},"modified":"2024-11-05T11:05:34","modified_gmt":"2024-11-05T19:05:34","slug":"wa-state-4-h-fair-puayllup","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/extension.wsu.edu\/yakima\/2022\/08\/22\/wa-state-4-h-fair-puayllup\/","title":{"rendered":"WA State 4-H Fair &#8211; Puayllup"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wsu-row wsu-row--single\" >\r\n    \n<div class=\"wsu-column\"  style=\"\">\r\n\t\n\n<p><b>What\u2019s New in 2022<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As we move into our first full face to face fair since Covid pandemic, there are some changes in store for this year\u2019s fair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/s3.wp.wsu.edu\/uploads\/sites\/2050\/2022\/07\/2022P-SECT-D-GENERAL-ACTIVITIES-AND-CONTESTS.pdf\">General Activities and Contest Events<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>County qualifying is not required in any project area. Counties still need to certify the entries and work within the animal allocation process.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dormitories will NOT be available for the 2022 fair. Camping and hotels in the area is available.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Junior division has been added in each of the judging contest. Juniors do not have to give oral reasons.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Live kitchen activities will NOT held this year.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Public Presentations have a virtual option for 2022<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Equine &#8211; Reining is added to the Senior Performance Section. Western Dressage is dropped from all performance sections.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Equine &#8211; Small equine is an addition to the State 4-H Fair and will combine with the harness section.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dog obedience schedule has been reduced to six days.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Kitchen activities<\/b> &#8211; there is a virtual option for any 4-H member wishing to participate.&nbsp; Please refer to the exhibitor guide \u201cGeneral Activities and Contests\u201d page 25 under \u201cFood Activities\u201d on how to participate.&nbsp; Contact the Extension office for the Exhibitor forms and placed on the State Fair list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Fashion Revue &#8211; Sept 10, 18 and 24.&nbsp; Finals on Sept. 25<\/b>. Public showing for all Fashion revue events will be on the Blue Showplace Stage. Contact the Extension office for the Exhibitor forms and placed on the State Fair list<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Public presentations &#8211; <\/b>4-H members may film their presentation and send a link and the completed entry form to the State 4-H Fair Office.&nbsp; We can also set up a zoom meeting for presentations if that is also desired.
