The Washington State University Extension 4-H Youth Development program reaches more than 87,000 young people in Washington each year. 4-H is for ALL youth, in urban and rural communities, from all racial, cultural, economic, and social backgrounds. Today¹s 4-H is still a community-based youth development program, focusing on character building and life skill development.
4-H programs are offered to youth through community clubs, project clubs, schools, and special interest groups. Projects are research-based and many help support Washington and national academic standards in science, math, technology, environmental education, family and consumer sciences, health sciences, arts education, and more.
