2025 4-H State Teen Association Convention (STAC)
The Animal Genomics Extension team will be conducting a workshop at the Washington 4-H STAC conference titled “Livestock Genetics: Unraveling the Code!” Participants will extract DNA, learn how to interpret genetic test results, and explore how these insights can improve breeding and selection strategies. We’ll also discuss current research efforts aimed at advancing livestock genetics and breeding for better productivity, health, and efficiency. This interactive session will allow participants to apply cutting-edge genetic tools to real-world breeding decisions, and look ahead to the future of livestock production.
