Tomatoes – to plant or not to plant now? That is the question! Spring is here and these multiple days of warming temperatures allow direct seeding and transplanting starts into the garden. However, tomatoes and other warm-season crops need to stay cozy inside just a bit longer. Find out what’s good to put in your garden now and join Clallam County Master Gardeners at the Fifth Street Community Garden, 328 E. Fifth Street, Port Angeles on May 10 for the “Second Saturday Garden Walk.”
Special focus will be on helping gardeners know the intricacies of tomato growing success in our maritime climate. Other warm-season crops like peppers, squash and cucumbers will also be discussed.
All walks are free and occur rain or shine from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and continue through September 13.
